Walking for Change: Join Our Community Walk for Gun Safety

Join The Concerned Citizens Against Gun Violence in the Falls Church City 44th Annual Memorial Day Parade and Festival.


Who: The Concerned Citizens Against Gun Violence

What: Participation in an eight-block walk starting at West Street at 2 pm and finishing on Park Avenue as a crowd of 12,000+ spectators cheer us on.

 

We also host a Gun Violence Prevention booth offering free trigger locks, postcard signing for legislators, and more. 

When: Monday, May 25, 2026

Where: See the maps below for the location of our booth (E-5) and our staging point for the parade (Line-up #29). City of Falls Church, government grounds located at 300 Park Avenue, Falls Church, VA 22046


  • Please wear an orange T-shirt, and you won't miss us.  

  • When we reach the end of the parade route, we will sing "America the Beautiful" to the judges in the bandstand. From there, we will take a group photo in the parking lot of the building to our left.

  • We must be at the line-up position at 1:30 pm, rain or shine.


  • 47,000 Americans die each year from firearms

  • 124 people are killed each day by a firearm

  • 13 Veterans commit suicide each day with a firearm

  • Gun violence's annual economic cost is estimated to be at least $100 billion

  • Firearms are the leading cause of death in U.S. children and teens
