The Joy of Voting — Let’s Do It Together in Fairfax
Early Voting Opening Day Rally at Government Center, Friday, September 18th, 10:30-11:30 AM.
Sponsored by Defend Democracy Indivisible, Turning Tables Indivisible, Red Wine & Blue Community Action Team of Herndon and Fairfax Dems. Fairfax County Government Center, meet in the middle area in front of the building, across the street from the flagpoles. Singing, talking, meeting, and greeting. March together into the polls to cast your ballot together (no signs in the voting area). Stay and enjoy a drink in the cafeteria and maybe even write a postcard. Register here.
September 15TH IS NATIONAL VOTER REGISTRATION DAY! Help out with INDIVISIBLE NOVA WEST in 3 easy steps!
Step 1: Get trained - Take the training and fill out the affidavit
Come Practice Saturday, September 12th at 11 AM
Where: Centreville Library (Meeting Room 1)
What: Targeted scenario-based role-playing training that supports volunteer efforts in both voter registration and poll greeting (incl. De-escalation techniques). ALSO….get all the supplies you will need for a successful event.
Why: Because volunteer work with friends is the best way to get after it! …and we want everyone to be as comfortable as possible with sometimes uncomfortable situations.
Step 2: Put it in Action!!! Tuesday, September 15th at 9:30 AM & 12:30 PM
Where: Manassas NVCC
What: Engage students to increase voter registration/voter awareness.
Why: Take that first step in helping future generations get #VoteReady and practice registering voters for future events!
