Fairfax Indivisible and Falls Church Indivisible WORKERS OVER BILLIONAIRES and MUTUAL AID FOR FAMILIES DETAINED BY ICE May Day is a Day of Action to support workers and protest against the Trump administration's policies. We are flexing our economic power as workers to send a message to billionaires. SPEND NO MONEY THAT DAY and, if you can, walk out of school or work. Indivisible is using this as a “structure test” to see the level of participation we can expect when the Trump Administration tries a voter suppression effort, and we need a rapid response. May Day Strong is a necessary first step to build effective resistance. Thank you for your participation! For more information, go here - https://indivisible.org/campaigns/may-day-participation-guide/ What MAY DAY event can I attend? Fairfax Indivisible and Friends bridge event: https://mobilize.us/s/Twt6rO Or any of these events: https://virginiagrassroots.org/action-events.php How can I participate in MUTUAL AID efforts? Mutual aid is a voluntary, cooperative system in which community members share resources and support one another to meet common needs, emphasizing solidarity over charity. We are having a food and supply drive at our event to provide help for families in our community who have family members in detention, in danger, or going to detention. Please consider bringing an item from the list below to our May Day bridge event (see above). There will be a collector in the parking area at the bridge. OR drop it in the collection bins at: 9519 Baccarat Drive, Fairfax, VA (Drop off box on porch, May 1, 2, or 3) 225 E Broad St., Falls Church, VA (Drop off 2:45-5:15 at Door ‘D’ in the back on Sunday, May 3 only) 9107 Parliament Drive, Burke, VA (Drop-off box at top of driveway, May 1, 2, or 3) 6608 Huntsman Blvd, Springfield, VA (Drop off box on porch, May 1, 2, or 3) Here is the list of needed foodbank items: https://tinyurl.com/FX-FC-food-donation Word of these events came to us from NOVA West and Turning the Tables Wed, April 29: Sign-Making Party for Haymarket May Day Event Fri, May 1: May Day (Complete Participation Guide)
