FIGHT BACK VIRGINIA!

  • Apr 8
  • 4 min read

We have agency. We will write the future.

We the People need to take the power back.

As usual, they go LOW, and then they go LOWER! There are some real shenanigans going on with the redistricting vote. You may have seen, or received, a flyer or text stating that Gov. Spanberger and former President Obama oppose this redistricting, which is, I hate to say it, fake news. Yes, the “no fake news” criers are out there publishing fake news and trying to confuse and outright mislead voters.

For example, the group Justice for Democracy PAC, led by former GOP Delegate A.C. Cordoza, a Black Republican, who was defeated in November 2025 by Delegate Virgil Thornton Sr., sent a controversial mailer out last month that used images from the Jim Crow South to push voters to reject the April 21 ballot initiative. See Black Virginia News on Substack: blackvirginianews@substack.com episode 68.

I know we should not be surprised. But COME ON!! We have to take them on, we have to fight back.

So it is imperative that WE get the truth out there. We need to make sure Virginians know what this vote is about, what it is in reaction to, why it will be temporary, and why it matters in the long run.

SO please spread the word. Speak out at your HOA, church, bridge club, pickleball court, or school function.

Get a yard sign, wear a button that says VOTE Yes! Let the truth spread.

Here is an Article to help you frame your talking points.

Here is an example of a written statement you can share:

If you feel confused or misled by the upcoming April 21st referendum vote, it's because the GOP is lying about President Obama being a NO on this issue.

President Obama is a YES!! This is what he has actually said: Vote YES: President Barack Obama.

Why? Because the Democrats are poised to win the mid-term elections, and Donald Trump is trying to flip that script by convincing Texas and other red states to eliminate competitive or Democrat leaning Congressional seats in an effort to maintain control of the House for the GOP. We need to VOTE YES FOR DEMOCRACY AND FAIRNESS! And remember, a VOTE NO IS FOR TRUMP!!

Mid-decade redistricting is something TRUMP STARTED, again, so that the Democrats could not win the mid-term elections fair and square. Should the Democrats sit back and do nothing and allow the craziness in Washington to continue? Or should we stand up to this bully and say HELL NO, NOT ON MY WATCH! I say we stand up to Trump and fight fire with fire. That means we need to VOTE YES FOR DEMOCRACY AND FAIRNESS before or on April 21st! Tell your friends and neighbors not to VOTE NO FOR TRUMP!

VOTE YES FOR DEMOCRACY!

VOTE NO FOR TRUMP!

Sincerely,

Your Name
