Early voting begins in Virginia on Friday, September 18, 2026!

Everyone can help to get the vote out. Vote in Person! Take your friends and family with you. If you are on social media, post your voting outing, brag about voting, get Voting trending. Talk about it in your circles. Also, stay informed about the ballot; you won’t change everyone’s mind, but you might change one person's mind, and that's enough. We need every vote.

*** For those who usually vote absentee by mail, this year, keep in mind that the United States Postal Service is a willing partner in Trump’s executive order that they screen mail-in ballots and send back entire lots of ballots if a single irregularity is found on any of them (such as missing the newly required barcode, specifics for which may not have gone out before the mail-in ballots were printed by states). If possible, Absentee Voters, drop your completed ballots in a local drop box rather than returning them by snail mail. The courts have not yet settled the legality of USPS’ intent to regulate mail-in ballots, and SCOTUS may drag its feet on making a ruling; or, ballots may already be in the mail before clarification comes. So, to be sure your vote counts, vote in person this year or, if you do receive your requested mail-in ballot, please drop it in a drop box rather than mailing it back. In Fairfax County, a permanent drop box is located outside the Government Center. On election day, you may return your absentee ballot using any Fairfax County drop-off box before 7 p.m.

• Outside the Fairfax County Government Center, 24/7. This secure drop box is monitored by cameras.

• Inside the Fairfax County Government Center: Office of Elections, Suite 323.

• At all Fairfax County precinct voting locations, 6 a.m.-7 p.m.

In Loudoun County, you can return your Absentee ballot in any of these ways: Drop it at the 24/7 drop box at the Office of Elections at 750 Miller Drive, Suite 150, Leesburg, VA 20175, no later than 7:00 p.m. on Election Day.

• Drop it off at an early voting site during open hours.

• Voted mail ballots can also be dropped off at any polling place on Election Day no later than 7:00 p.m.

In Prince William County, drop your Absentee ballot:

• At our Office – Drop your ballot in the drop box at 9250 Lee Avenue, Suite 1 (Manassas) by 7 pm on Election Day.

• At a Drop Box – All early voting locations and Election Day polling places have drop boxes you can use
