Congratulations again to our new leadership team, Abigail Spanberger, Ghazala Hashmi and Jay Jones! Many, many thanks to everyone who helped get them elected!
Congratulations also to our Fairfax friend and District 11 Delegate David Bulova, who has been appointed Secretary of Natural and Historic Resources. We concur and reiterate Chesapeake Bay Foundation Virginia Policy Manager Jay Ford’s statement: “We congratulate Delegate Bulova and look forward to working closely with him and the Spanberger Administration to ensure a Chesapeake Bay that can be enjoyed by all. Their leadership and experience will be invaluable to the Commonwealth.”
Congratulations, too, to new Spanberger Cabinet members from Northern Virginia, Delegate Mark Sickles as Secretary of Finance, Delegate Candi Mundon King as Secretary of the Commonwealth, Sen. Adam Ebbit as Senior Advisor at the Virginia Cannabis Control Authority, and also to Northern Virginian Dr. Sesha Joi Moon as Chief Diversity Officer and Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

Also, on January 13, 2026 Democrat Margaret Angela Franklin won the House of Delegates District 23 seat.
