Our next fall clean up has been scheduled for Sunday, September 30th, from 1 to 4 p.m. Join us and get some exercise, meet new people and do something good for the environment! See below post for more details.

On Sunday, October 7, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., the DWCNC will host a booth at Clifton Day, partnering with Springfield District Democratic Committee. Our booth will be located in the parking lot of Trummer’s Restaurant by the railroad tracks. Voter and campaign information and yard signs will be available for you to take. Contact us at info@dwcnv.org to volunteer for a two-hour shift between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

General Meetings

Our fall General Meetings will be held at the Clifton Town Hall from 3 to 5 p.m., on September 23 and October 21. On November 18, we will gather at the Clifton home of two of our members for a potluck dinner and our annual Holiday Projects get-together.

On Sunday, September 23, our meeting topic will be “Money in Politics: How Are We Impacted?” Join us to hear industry leaders discuss how money in politics affects us in our daily lives–as employees, consumers, and grassroots volunteers. Postcard writing will follow the presentation to remind your friends and neighbors to vote on November 6!

Our Sunday, October 21 General Meeting topic will be “Persuasive Progressive Messaging,” with Alane Dashner of Swing Left. Just in time for the holidays, learn how to talk to Uncle Bert at the Thanksgiving table! Ms. Dashner has insights and suggestions for civil discourse that communicates a positive progressive message, especially when speaking to those with opposing views.

On November 18 we will hold our Annual Holiday Projects meeting and Potluck Dinner starting at 3 p.m. at the home of members. We will hear from leaders of the two charities we support: Britepaths and the Fairfax County Firefighters and Friends to the Rescue Toy Drive. You do not have to be a member to donate to the charities, and we will soon provide more information about how to donate.
